Starcraft has been ever changing from Starcraft, to Broodwar, to the most recent Starcraft II Wings Of Liberty. The newest Starcraft is on the way and making HUGE changing to the game as we know it. Thors are 600 minerals now and require a fusion core. Burrow charge ability for Ultralisks. Burrowed banelings can MOVE. Carriers Are Gone! Replicant can transform into enemy units but not non massive units. This is not the Starcraft II that we all know and love. This is some information on the new expansion that is coming out named Starcraft Heart Of The Swarm. In this new expansion it follows the Zerg side of the story line. Heart of the Swarm is really a new topic to Starcraft II, being that Starcraft II did only come out a year and a half ago. From all the little previews that Blizzard showed us at Blizzcon left a lot to the imagination. New units for all three of the races, new upgrades, new balanced changes and maps are what we got a look at. My favorite units that I got to take a look at are the Replicant for Protoss, the Swarm Host for Zerg, and the Thor change for Terran. The Replicant is similar to the Changing, but when it changes to the unit that you want it so, it is now a part of your army. So all you Protoss fans that 1-1-1 that Terran keeps beating you with now you have a siege tank to help you defend. The Swarm Host works kind of like the Lurcker in Starcraft Broodwar. The difference is it sends out Broodlings in endless waves. This is a perfect way to harass expos by your opponent or break siege tank holds. One of the bigger changes is changing the “Master Units” of Starcraft. In Starcraft II the Master Unit is the Protoss Mothership. Only letting you build one and it have special ability’s. In The Heart Of The Swarm the Thor is now taking over that position. It will be fun to see how they make the Thor into something like the Mothership was and how they replace the Thor with the different units that Terran will be getting. If you would like to play a little Heart Of The Swarm early then you’re in luck. On each of the Starcraft II servers goto Create a Custom Game and look for “HoTS” and the publisher is XenoX. This will let you play a little preview of things to come. To take an indepth look each race and previews check out these links.
